Mental Health & Good Humans with Guest Cooper Chapman

Meet Cooper! Pro surfer, public speaker, mindfulness and wellbeing advocate and founder of The Good Human Factory!

Elise had the pleasure of speaking to Cooper about his work with The Good Human Factory, growing up an elite athlete and navigating mental health as a youth!

In late 2018 professional surfer Cooper Chapman realised something needed to change.

An undisputed issue. Australia saw over 2000 suicides in 2019 alone, currently this is the leading cause of death for Australians between the ages 15 and 44. 2019 was a year where we have become more connected online yet disconnected in reality. This is the same year that has seen 3.5 billion people active on social media...

a figure that is both impressive and alarming.

Our organisation is all about what it means to be a ‘Good Human’. A simple concept that can take a lifetime to master, if ever at all. We look to inspire a positive and balanced life focusing on Gratitude, Mindfulness, Values, Kindness and Empathy.

We pose the question, what is a positive and balanced life? Most would answer this with ‘Being Happy’. Unfortunately, some people search for happiness in the wrong places and struggle to be resilient in tough times. At The Good Human Factory we aim to provide our audience with the tools to continually grow and improve their quality of life through the power of reflection, sharing stories, connecting with and learning from others.

My philosophy is - always be kind, you never know what others are going through.
